The Heavenly Vices Lock Stories Collection began as a natural extension of the stories we have long shared with our collectors through our Victorian Love Token jewelry. For years, our customers have connected deeply with the history, romance, and symbolism found in antique love tokens—engraved coins exchanged during the Victorian era as intimate mementos of affection and remembrance.

At the beginning of the pandemic, we set out to create a new capsule collection inspired by the symbolism, talismans, and secret languages found in Victorian jewelry. The result is the Lock Stories capsule collection: a series of finely crafted combination lock pendants designed to tell layered stories of love, memory, and connection.

Each piece is a fully functional three-sided combination lock, with every side expressing the same sentiment in three different forms: the Roman alphabet, Braille alphabet, and traditional Victorian symbolic language. This interplay of text and symbol reflects the Victorian fascination with encoded messages and hidden meanings.

Symbolism was at the heart of Victorian-era jewelry, where flowers, talismans, and engraved messages allowed wearers to communicate sentiments discreetly. While Lock Stories is a contemporary jewelry collection, it honors this rich tradition by incorporating authentic Victorian symbols and symbolic motifs into modern heirloom designs.
